Billy Nichols is a Principal at Innerlight Capital, where he helps lead the firm’s AI strategy execution across both internal systems and its foreseeable portfolio companies. He brings a unique blend of technical fluency and commercial leadership to Innerlight’s proprietary value creation platform.

At Innerlight, Billy focuses on embedding AI-native workflows into the firm’s operating playbook, bridging engineering and go-to-market functions to build tailored, scalable solutions across its portfolio companies. He plays a key role in translating emergent technologies into actionable business outcomes, collaborating closely with engineering and operating teams to drive growth.

Prior to this, Billy held senior roles at Axon Enterprise, where he led GTM strategy and market expansion across enterprise software, drone systems, and public safety technologies. His work enabled the adoption of complex, tech-forward solutions across hundreds of public safety agencies and new market verticals. A former startup founder and self-taught front-end coder, Billy moves fluidly between product engineering and commercialization, bringing a practical approach to value creation.

Billy holds an AB in Economics from Harvard University, where he captained the football team during its most successful four-year run in program history, winning multiple Ivy League championships and individual accolades. He is an active member of the Phoenix 20/30 Club, supporting initiatives focused on the underserved youth.
