Eduardo Gamboa

Founder & CEO

Eduardo Gamboa (“Eddy”) is the Founder and CEO of Innerlight Capital. He leads with a focus on uncovering overlooked market opportunities and supporting enduring businesses through patient hands-on partnership, AI-driven strategy, and deep cultural insight. At Innerlight, he directs investment strategy, governance, fundraising, and portfolio leadership—always anchored in long-term alignment with founders and communities.

Eduardo’s perspective is shaped by both his Hispanic heritage and his Midwest upbringing, where he grew up surrounded by family-owned businesses. Early exposure to entrepreneurship taught him the grit, sacrifice, and perseverance required to build lasting value in all aspects of life. These lessons inform his vision for Innerlight: to partner with family-owned and founder-led businesses, preserve legacies, and accelerate growth for the next generation.

With nearly a decade of experience across private equity, investment banking, and family-led operations, Eduardo brings a pragmatic and analytical style shaped by both institutional rigor and entrepreneurial resilience.

Before launching Innerlight, he was a private equity investor at IMB Partners and One Equity Partners, deploying over $500 million to support founder successions, add-on acquisitions, recapitalizations, and growth investments within the lower middle market. He began his career in the investment banking divisions of Morgan Stanley and Bank of America, advising Fortune 500 clients across mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising efforts. He developed foundational experience in the lower middle market at Aavin Equity Advisors, a Midwest-based private equity firm investing in underserved U.S. regions.

Eduardo holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business. He later served on the Tippie Alumni Board, helping lead student body development and community initiatives. A lifelong competitor, he was also a member of the Hawkeyes varsity soccer program, contributing to two conference championship runs. Today, he channels those same values of perseverance, teamwork, and long-term thinking into building Innerlight’s vision of empowering overlooked founders and the communities they serve.
